Welcome to the Bewdley Motorcycle Club website.
The Bewdley motorcycle Club exists to promote the sport of motorcycling in all its
various fields.
The Club was formed in 1948 at the Thurston Hotel Severn Side South Bewdley. During its history the Club has held its weekly Thursday
meetings in most of the public houses in the town, its' current headquarters, however, are at the Queens Head public house in Wolverley
village on the outskirts of Kidderminster in Worcestershire.
The Club is affilliated to the Midland Centre of the Auto Cycle Union
Ltd. which is the National Governing Body for Motorcycle Sport throughout the British Isles (excluding Northern Ireland), which was
formed in 1903 by the Royal Automobile Club.
The Club organises National and Regional Trials and National Grasstrack races at various
locations in the Worcestershire and Shropshire areas.
Bewdley Motorcycle Club members currently compete in all branches of motorcycling
sport at local, National and International World levels, including trials, motocross, hillclimbs and road racing and the Club endeavours
to attract and encourage younger riders by organising very easy reliability trials and providing easy routes in the Club trials.
The
Club also has a social side and meets every thursday evening at the Queens Head in Wolverley, most Thursdays it is just a general
natter of like minded motorcycle enthusiasts, but the Committee usually organises something of interest for the last Thursday of the
month such as film shows competitions and talks.
The Club has a number of members interested in the restoration and riding of classic
motorcycles from the 1920's to the 1970's and the Club organises displays of motorcycles and enters club stands in classic motorcycle
shows. The Club has won the best Club Stand at the Borders Classic Bike Show twice in the last four years.
The Club
also organises coach outings such as the visit to the British Speedway Grand Prix at Swansea.
