BOXING DAY TRAILS  2019
Wow, wow , wow what a fabulous day was had by all. The Club's traditional Boxing Day Trial event went down a storm this year. 72 entrants, weather not too bad and for the first time food was supplied and served by ourselves from our own catering trailer.. Thank you to everyone who made this event such a success. Thank you to Chris and John Price for again serving up superb food and for everyone who worked behind the scenes to make this such a good day out. Our Catering Trailer is now fully operative and is of course, available for hire. Contact the club for further details. Wishing you all a very Happy New Year and looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible at our 2020 events. Why not get more involved and join us on a Thursday evening at The Queens Head in Wolverley where we meet 8 p.m onwards. We would love to see you there. Diane

Food was served from The Club's own catering trailer.  -  Comments were  "food was superb"
The Catering trailer is available for hire  - contact the Club for further details.
I hope you all enjoyed looking at the images which emphasised what a splendid day
was had by all on Boxing Day.

Of course, this wouldn't have happened had it not been for the extremely hard work and preparation done by Jim Teague, Kevin Taylor, Keith Basketfield and Phil Perkins once again.

Thank you so so much for your commitment not only on the day but before and afterwards. It is so appreciated by us all.
A few comments on what people thought of the day :

David Fletcher Fantastic day thanks          Mitch Reynolds Fantastic day out

The film "On Any Sunday" described trials riders as "the violinists of the orchestra". I don't know how many trials riders are virtuosos of the stringed instrument but they do have an uncanny ability to put a motorcycle where a motorcycle shouldn't go.

Bewdley's trials heritage includes the following:
Closed-to-Club events
Regional Restricted events
Twin-shock championship events
British Championship events
The Club was also years ahead of its time in organising annual cycle trials in Habberley Valley.

Norman Crump is a past winner of the National Greensmith Trial. Rather more recently Joel Tett was last year's Midland Centre Youth class B champion and Ross Danby was third in the ACU Solo British Championship. It is good to see the Club's trials heritage continuing today

The Clee Hills was a favourite route for rock-strewn streams such as Crumpsbrook but a new series of Beginners Evening Trials in the summer at local venue Shatterford encourages those new to the sport to compete in a friendly atmosphere.

Thank you to everyone who took part here are the results for Thursday 6 June 2019
I  would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who attended Thursday evening's ( 6 June 2019) successful trial hosted by Bewdley Motor Cycle Club. There was a lovely atmosphere and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

I would also like to thank Mr Colley and family for the use of their land, without them it would not be possible to run these trials.

My thanks also goes to all the observers who did a marvellous job and again we couldn't run any trials without them.

My biggest thank you goes to Chris Tett and his family who always work so hard setting out the trials and helping out behind the scenes. We couldn't do it without you Chris
Thank you also to everyone else who helped with setting out the trial.
My next thank you goes to all the ladies who provided the sandwiches and cakes they were delicious and very welcome at the end of the evening.
Finally I would like to thank my long suffering mom for putting up with the grouchy person I have been over the last week
I look forward to seeing everyone at round 2 of the series on Thursday 20th June 2019 same time and venue

Phil Perkins

I would once again like to thank everyone who attended Thursday's trial  20 June 2019 run by Bewdley Motor Cycle Club. There was a lovely, friendly atmosphere and the event was enjoyed by all.
I would like to thank Mr Colley for the use of his land, without this we couldn't run the trials.
I also want to thank everyone who provided the refreshments I know everyone enjoyed them and they were very welcome at the end of the evening.
Thank you also to the 4 observers that turned up without them the trial cannot go ahead. On this note I would like to remind everyone that if you enter the meeting and provide an observer then your entry is reduced to £10.
Once again I want to thank Chris Tett and family for their hard work preparing the sections ready for the trial
I know I have said this before but we really couldn't run these trials without you Chris.
Unfortunately due to work commitments I will be unable to attend the final round of the series on Thursday 4th July, however I know you will be in good hands with Lee and the rest of the team    Results are shown below

Results roundup.
With many of our trials members preparing for the annual trip to Scotland, I can only report on our members competing in the BMCA trial at Hunnington, near Halesowen, run on Sunday 28th April.
Riding the A Route: Chris Denney finished in fourth position,
Riding the B Route and aboard his new Bantam, Keith Gardner finished in top spot,
Riding the D Route: Steve Leyshon finished in third position....
Any other results from the weekend will be recorded for next weeks report.
Well done to all of you.
I don't have an action shot this week, but I do have something a little different and a question to ask. Stourport MC & LCC was formed in the 1930's, but more than that I can not add. Where, by whom, why or what, I don't know. All I have is an image of the club's badge. If anyone can throw some light on the subject, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, please leave a message here, or contact me on paulhooper1@talktalk.net. I can then notify the current owner of the badge.
